California Colleges Information

CaliforniaColleges.edu is California's official college and career planning platform designed to help students explore their future, prepare for college, and successfully apply to California Community Colleges (CCC), California State Universities (CSU), and the University of California (UC) systems. This platform is an essential resource students will use throughout high school.

Students can use CaliforniaColleges.edu to:

  • Explore careers by completing career and interest assessments and researching occupations.
  • Discover colleges and build a personalized college list based on their interests and goals.
  • Track A-G progress using academic information imported from Aeries to help ensure they stay on track for CSU and UC eligibility.
  • Apply to California colleges by launching applications to California Community Colleges, CSU, and UC campuses.
  • Access financial aid resources and connect to FAFSA or CADAA to complete financial aid applications.
  • Store college and career planning activities in one secure location that students can access throughout high school.

Students will begin using CaliforniaColleges.edu as freshmen and continue building their college and career plans each year through classroom lessons, workshops, and individual counseling appointments.

Maia Learning

Maia Learning Platform

Maia Learning is our college application and document management platform used to support students applying to colleges that require the Common Application or other institutions requesting official school documents. While only some students will need to use Maia Learning at this time, it serves as an important tool for managing the college application process.

Students may use Maia Learning to:

  • Launch the Common Application and connect it with their school account.
  • Request transcripts and school documents required by colleges.
  • Manage letters of recommendation by requesting and tracking teacher and counselor submissions.
  • Monitor application requirements and document submission status.

Who uses Maia Learning?

  • Students applying to private colleges and universities using the Common Application.
  • Students applying to many out-of-state colleges and universities that require school documents to be submitted electronically.
  • Students whose colleges request transcripts, school reports, counselor recommendations, or teacher letters of recommendation through the platform.

As our district continues to expand the use of Maia Learning, additional college planning and reporting features may become available to students in the future. For now, CaliforniaColleges.edu remains the primary platform for college and career exploration, while Maia Learning is used specifically to support the college application and document submission process.
