Santa Susana Performing Arts Boosters: Performing Arts Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

Senior at SSHS and have attended SSHS for at least two (2) years; in the process of enrolling in or have been accepted to a community college, 4-year university or vocational school and must have been enrolled in the department to which you are applying for a minimum of two (2) years.  Overall GPA of no less than 2.5 and no less than a 3.5 cumulative GPA in the performing arts department for which the application is submitted.  Parent/guardian/student must be a SSPAB member as of March 1, 2020 and be a paid Booster member for at least two (2) years.

Simi Educators Association (SEA) Thelma Ridgely-Gary Gschwind-Nell Murphy Memorial Scholarship

Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation: Rodney Fernandez Leadership Fund

The Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) established the Rodney Fernandez Leadership Fund in 2011 to honor Rodney Fernandez, CEDC's founder and Executive Director for 30 years and provide scholarships and mini-grants to Cabrillo residents.  The scholarships continue Rodney Fernandez's legacy of community building by cultivating the leadership capacity of CEDC residents to attain their goals, empower themselves to take action and improve the quality of life in their communities.  Scholarships are made available to all residents of Ventura County, however, priority will be given to residents of CEDC properties.


Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a Ventura County resident with a household income less than or equal to the Area Median Income (AMI) for Ventura county (see table in application).  Student must be currently enrolled in and/or continuing college education, in the process of applying to an accredited institution or enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.

Universal Scholarship Application

The Universal Scholarship Application encompasses 17 different scholarships for which students can apply using one application form.  Instructions, list, and application can be downloaded as a fillable pdf via Naviance..  Paper copies are available in the CCC.  Some of the participating organizations include: Rotary of Simi Sunrise, Simi Valley Education Foundation, Soroptimist International, a variety of local PTA/PTSAs, and more!

American Public Works Association(APWA)

Deadline: April 23, 2020 

Amount: $5,000 Maximum

The APWA is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for high school students entering college or university in an engineering/public works related major from any high school located within the APWA Ventura Chapter Region.


Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be a 12th grade student and/or graduating high school in the spring or summer of 2020, and who will be attending college or university in the fall of 2020, and will be pursuing studies in a public works related field of study (i.e. Civil or Structural Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Landy Surveying, Urban Planning, etc).  The selection of the scholarships will be based on  the academic achievements of the student and his/her expressed interest to pursue a career in a public works related field.

National Latino Peace Officers' Association (STUDENTS NEED NOT BE LATINO)

The NLPOA is committed to helping students pursue a higher education.  Students need not be Latino, but merely promote diversity in school work-place.  Consideration will be given to those students interested in law enforcement careers.


Eligibility Requirements:

High school seniors or college students residing in Ventura County with a minimum 2.75 GPA with no D or F in all completed course work.  Applicant must demonstrate community service and/or involvement


Required Documentation:

  • One (1) Letter of Recommendation from a counselor or teacher
  • One (1) letter of recommendation from an organization or community leader where community involvement occurs
  • Official copy of transcripts in a sealed envelope

Each year, the Simi Valley Emblem Club awards the Helen Galbraith Scholarship (named in honor of charter member and past president Helen Galbraith, a retired educator) to one graduating senior in each of the four Simi Valley High Schools.


Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a 2020 graduating senior attending college in the Fall of 2020.  Selection is not based solely on academic excellence.  We encourage all graduating seniors who wish financial assistance with a college education to apply for this scholarship.
