Attendance

Reporting an Absence

To report an absence, call or email our attendance clerk, Mrs. Tipton.

Clearning an Absence

Pursuant to AR 5113, parents shall notify the school and provide reason for their student's absence within 5 days. If a parent or legal guardian does not provide a reason for the absence after 5 days, the absence will be noted as TRUANT.

After a total of 12 absences during a school year due to illness, any future absences due to illness MUST be verified by a physician.

College Visitations

Juniors and seniors may have a limited number of absences for college visitations excused if the college visitation is pre-approved at least two weeks prior to the visit.

Please download this form to request the days be excused.

Note: If there are extenuating circumstances in which you do not qualify to have your college visitation excused, please email the Principal to discuss the matter.

Early Release

If it is necessary for your student to leave school early for an appointment, you must either fax (805-579-6385), email to stephanie.tipton@simivalleyusd.org with copy of ID, or send a SIGNED note with the student stating the time that the student is to be released and the reason. Please include a telephone number where you can be reached for verification. This note must be turned in to the Attendance Office by 9:00 A.M. After note verification, the student will be issued an off-campus pass.

The only other way to release your student from campus early is to come to the office personally to pick him/her up. Identification will be required.

Students will not be released from a parent phone call. Students who leave campus without school permission will be marked truant and will be subject to discipline.
