THE SCHOLARSHIPS BELOW ARE JUST A SNAPSHOT OF WHAT IS AVAILABLE.  THERE ARE ALSO ESSAY AND VIDEO CONTESTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND SCHOLARSHIPS/CONTESTS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS IN 9-11TH GRADE IN ADDITION TO ONES FOR SENIORS.

Seniors!  The Universal Scholarship Application is open as of Friday, February 15th.  You can download the FILLABLE PDF from Naviance under "Universal Scholarship".  This application allows you to use the same application for 13 Scholarships.  Please contact Mrs. Wigdor in the College & Career Center with any questions.  The deadline for all 13 scholarships included in this packet is Tuesday, April 16 by 3:15pm.  No late packets will be accepted.  Please plan accordingly!  Good luck!
 
 
 
"Dear Cancer, It's Me..." 2019 High School Essay Contest

Are you a survivor?  Have you helped a family member or friend with cancer?  Share your story!  Write 500-2000 words about your cancer experience.

Open to African American graduating high school seniors with a minimum 2.75 GPA and plans to attend a community college or 4 year college/university.  Must reside or attend school in Ventura County.  Submit application, 2 official transcripts, a brief (typewritten) essay about yourself and future goals, and a recent photo.
 
Ventura County Chapter of Blacks in Government--Applicant need not be African American

Applicant must be graduating from an accredited secondary education institution in Ventura County -or- the child of a Ventura County Chapter of Blacks in Government member.  Applicant must have applied for admission to at least on accredited U.S. College or university, minimum 2.75 GPA and two letters of recommendation, along with an essay (topics available in the application in Naviance).

Graduating high school senior who attend a PTA/PTSA school in Ventura County  Scholarships are awarded to seniors who have exhibited outstanding service and volunteerism to their school and community.  Must be a member of your school's PTA/PTSA senior year (by March 1st) and provide a copy of membership card.  Include a resume or list of extracurricular and volunteer activities, essay responses, and two letters of recommendation.
 
SSHS Performing Arts Scholarships

DEADLINE: APRIL 3
Santa Susana Performing Arts Boosters will award cash scholarships to graduating seniors within the performing arts departments at SSHS.  The purpose of the this scholarship opportunity is to acknowledge the achievements of seniors for outstanding involvement or service at school and the community as well as to provide an incentive for students to continue their education.  Senior must have attended SSHS for at least two years and is in the process of enrolling in, or have been accepted to, a community college, four-year university, or vocational school.  Student must have been enrolled in the department (which you are applying for a scholarship) for a minimum of 2 years; overall GPA of no less than 2.5 and no less than a 3.5 cumulative GPA in the performing arts department for which the application is submitted.  Must include application, unofficial transcript, two letters of recommendation, resume, and essay.   Application available in Naviance or in the College & Career Center.
